About
Posidonia is a ceramic studio founded by Spanish artist Julia Palomeque. Inspired by the ocean and its shapes, forms, and colours, the studio pays tribute to the Mediterranean Sea, where the artist finds peace and creativity.
La Posidonia is a plant species native to the oceans of the Mediterranean, which creates oxygen and harmony in the sea. Purifying, evolving, and creating natural beauty are at the heart of Posidonia Studio.
The very nature of clay and ceramic practice is one that is earth-bound, creating new objects from the clay that the earth provides. Earth and water are the inspirations for the creative practice. The organic forms and shapes of the vases, oceanic colours, and wearable objects are all a practice of the merging of earth and human form. Each ceramic vessel is a means to connect with the ocean, its tides, and the peace that the artist feels when she is near a body of water.
